The widely publicized song “excuse me Mr. Kanthaswamy” from the film Kanthaswamy seems to be in deep trouble. A petition has been filed in the High Court by V. Elango claiming that he has penned the lyrics but he was shocked to find that the song is promoted in the name of another person.The petitioner claimed thathe owns the copyright of the song and has demanded Rs. 1 lakh compensation for using it in the film without his permission or to delete the song from the film. Hearing the petition Justice Jeyapal ordered the defendants, director Susi Ganesan, producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu and music composer Devi Sri Prasad to file a counter explaining the issue within two week’s time.
