A.R.Rahman fans have already been treated by his albums like Jodha Akbar, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Ada and Sakkarakatti. But he never becomes tired. He comes with a better album everytime. This album is full of experimentations. This time the maestro has concentrated more on vocals. Let me take you through the various songs. I wouldn't rate them as I am noone to rate the maestro's work.
1. Main Hoon Yuvvraaj- Salman with the Fifth of Beethoven.
This time AR Rahman has used the fifth of Beethoven in one of his songs with the voice of Salman, who seems to be playing the character of Yuvvraaj in the movie. This is truly an experimentation and has come out very well. The song seems to be situational and I think the song would be go well with the movie.
2. Tu Meri Dost Hain - Benny Dayal , Shreya Ghoshal, A.R.Rahman.
The song starts with the humming by the magical voice of Rahman. Then Benny Dayal and Shreya Ghoshal carry the song very well. Kollywood people would have heard Benny before. He has done justice to the song as his high notes are perfect n soothing. Shreya as always renders her best in this song, especially the ending part is too good. Rahman's stanza in the middle add extra flavor to the song. Overall a very catchy tune which is sure to remain in people's heart. Sure to rock.
3. Shano Shano - Sonu Nigam, Srinivas, Karthik, Timmy, Sunaina, Vivienne Pocha, Tina
This song has all the makings of another Pappu cant dance song. This song's orchestration is worked upon pretty well. This will surely hit every dance floor. The lyrics part of it was disappointing though.
4. Tu Muskura- Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali
This is a perfect Rahman melody. The way this song is picturised will have a great impact on this song. Alka Yagnik's voice is so beautiful. Special mention to Javed Ali in this song. He has done a commendable job. A nice n soothing melody.
5. Mastam Mastam- Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Naresh & Benny
This song is a very energetic song, something like the Roobaroo song of RDB. However the orchestration part of it reminds me of Poraale Ponnu Thaayi of Karuthamma. No offence meant and i think it is intentionally done sometimes. The vocals are quite strong. The song will grow on you the more you listen to it..
6. Zindagi- Srinivas.
I wanted to hear Srini in Rahman'c compostion and my dream came true with this song. Srini steals the show with his voice. A catchy number which will surely make Rahman fans go mad. The tune is lovely.
7. Dil Ka Rishta- Sonu Nigam, Roopkumar Rathod n AR Rahman.
This is probably the song of the year. My favorite song of late by any composer. Man what orchestrations. What complex tunes. It starts with a classical note to it n then moves on to western style. Rahman's alaap in the middle adds great energy to the song. A special mention to Sonu Nigam. Wonderful singing. A perfect blend of vocals and orchestration. Sure to remain in people's heart for long.
8. Manmohini Meri-Vijay Prakash
This song is just out of the world. It is a perfect fusion of classical and western. Vijay Prakash's voice gives a magical touch to this song. A result of Rahman's effecient experimentation.
9. Shano Remix- Ember
This song is the remixed version of Shano and has been very well remixed by Krishna Chetan. This is sure to hit the parties.
A great album by AR Rahman, who proves that he still can deliver his best. He satisfies every class of audience through this album.
