Australia have a big lead!!

Day 3 was expected to be all Australia and it indeed was. But they did not get off to the greatest of starts. They added just 3 runs to their overnight score of 241 when Hussey got out playing a pull short of Martin for 70. Martin then got Symonds for a duck and Australia were in big trouble at 247 for 5. Haddin who had replaced Gilchrist recently, played an innings similar to Gilchrist. He played in an attacking fashion and hit the Kiwi bowlers to all parts of the park. Clarke too joined the party and played beautifully. Both of them scored brilliant centuries before Clarke was dismissed for 110 of the bowling of O Brien. Then Haddin along with Lee and other tail enders put up a mammoth score of 535 on the board. Australia got a lead of 265, thanks to a wonderful maiden century by Brad Haddin. Australia had a short spell at the Kiwis expecting a few wickets. But that was not possible as the Kiwi openers negotiated the given 9 overs pretty well and managed to score 35 without any loss of wicket. New Zealand trail by 230 runs with all 10 wickets in hand. Aussies would like to wrap up the match possibly by tomorrow.
